Using Ventura software, created the monthly newsletter. Assisted several departments who requested a hand with content or substantive editing. As 1990 was International Year of Literacy there were numerous special events.
Taught 'Bare Essentials' (Basic Grammar & Composition) plus Business Writing II. DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS: The 'Bare Essentials' students were a mix of New Canadians and Canadian high school 'drop outs', average age being 22. Their stories were laced with challenges they'd overcome and what they aspired to do after college. To keep things 'real' I had them complete a job application and take a 'mock' interview complete with writing sample. Conversely, the average age of my Business Writing II students was late 20s and their primary motivation was either consolidating their skills or qualifying for a promotion.
