About Writer
I am a passionate and dedicated screenwriter with a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Storytelling has always been at the heart of my career, whether I’m crafting feature-length screenplays, developing television pilots, or writing literary works. I thrive on the creative process and take pride in my ability to find and develop compelling narratives that resonate with audiences.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various roles that have honed my skills and broadened my understanding of the industry. At the Austin Film Festival, I served as a Screenplay Contest Reader, where I evaluated numerous submissions, focusing on structure, character development, and dialogue. Collaborating with fellow readers, I helped identify exceptional scripts that stood out in a highly competitive field.
During my internship at the Intellectual Property Group, I delved into the intricacies of screenplay and literary content analysis. I enjoyed the challenge of identifying original and marketable narratives and assisting in their development for potential adaptation. This experience deepened my appreciation for the diverse forms of storytelling and the meticulous work behind successful adaptations.
Working as a Library Assistant at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Library, I managed an extensive film collection and supported faculty and students in their academic and research endeavors. This role allowed me to merge my love for film with my commitment to education and resource management.
My writing portfolio is a reflection of my diverse interests and storytelling abilities. It includes feature-length screenplays like Falling Up and King Ellison, a television pilot titled Legal Ace, and literary works such as my personal memoir The Dent-Head Diaries and the short story collection The Ballads of Babylon. Each project is a labor of love, infused with my dedication to bringing unique and meaningful stories to life.
I am proficient in industry-standard screenwriting software such as Final Draft and Celtx, and I have a deep understanding of film theory and cinematic history. Above all, I am committed to storytelling excellence and continually seek to grow and evolve as a writer, always aiming to create narratives that inspire, entertain, and move people.
