We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Technical Writer to join our growing team focused on developing innovative IoT solutions. In this role, you will play a critical part in transforming complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for a global audience. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, firmware, and visual design teams to ensure consistency, clarity, and technical accuracy across all documents.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and update high-quality technical documentation including user guides, reference manuals, API documentation, system architecture overviews, and integration guides.
- Work closely with firmware and software development teams to understand new product features and system behavior.
- Translate technical specifications and engineering discussions into clear, concise, and accurate documentation tailored to the needs of developers, end-users, and system integrators.
- Manage content through a structured CMS system, ensuring version control, review cycles, and accessibility of documents.
- Use tools like Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and other publishing platforms to format and produce content suitable for both print and digital consumption.
- Develop and integrate visual assets such as diagrams, flowcharts, and infographics to enhance the clarity and impact of technical documents.
- Participate in agile development processes, attending sprint planning and review meetings to stay aligned with product release cycles.
- Conduct peer reviews and contribute to establishing documentation best practices and standards across teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- 8–14 years of experience in technical writing within technology domains, with a strong focus on IoT, firmware, and embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and the ability to comprehend source code, APIs, and system architecture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and structured writing tools.
- Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) for collaborative content creation and version control.
- Proven ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, UX/UI designers, and product managers.
- Ability to visualize concepts and create technical illustrations using modern tools and design principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with DITA or Markdown.
- Experience with version control tools like Git.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory documentation standards (if applicable to IoT verticals like healthcare or industrial automation).
