Technical Writer/Production Associate

BE Power Equipment Inc., North America’s fastest growing manufacturer of power equipment, is adding a Technical Writer/Production Associate to our branch location in Decaturville, TN. Working hours will be Monday – Thursday(6AM-4:30PM)

The Technical Writer will be responsible for all aspects of the research and writing of technical procedures and related documentation for BE Power Equipment USA’s full line of products.  This individual will collaborate with management and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy of the documentation required.  The position requires the individual to have a strong technical / mechanical background, a solid understand of manufacturing processes, and a continuous improvement (lean) mindset.

What you’ll do:

• Create complete and accurate technical documentation including Standard Operating Procedures for all BE Products
• Research, plan, and collaborate with subject matter experts to gather the required information and ensure accuracy of content
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and documents
• Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or the company
• Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, and charts that increase users understanding of the process
• Comply with the company’s applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Incorporate lean manufacturing principals into standard operating procedures to ensure efficient processes are mapped out as required

Who you are:

• You have proven experience as a Technical Writer or similar role.
• You are mechanically inclined and familiar with the power equipment or manufacturing industry.
• You have excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
• You are familiarity with diagramming / blueprint tools such as Solid Works and Power Point.
• You have strong research skills to gather information from subject matter experts.

Other details:

• The successful candidate must have reliable transportation, as the location is not on a regular bus route.
• You are willing and able to work overtime occasionally as needed.
• You have and are able to wear steel toe safety boots daily.
