Technical Writer

Our client is a Portuguese company focused on the development of technological products and consequent implementation in international projects at the service of governments and society in general and is recruiting aTechnical Writer to support our growing documentation and compliance needs. The ideal candidate brings expertise in crafting clear, accurate, and user-centered content for APIs, IT systems, and software platforms, with an added focus on supporting documentation for compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and internal security policies. You will collaborate across technical and compliance teams to ensure our documentation not only informs users but also aligns with industry standards and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain technical documentation including user guides, API references, SOPs, tutorials, FAQs, and internal knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, SMEs, and compliance officers to gather accurate information on systems, workflows, and security practices.
• Support the development and maintenance of documentation aligned with compliance frameworks including ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and other regulatory standards.
• Create visual aids (diagrams, process flows, charts) to complement documentation.
• Edit and proofread for clarity, tone, grammar, and technical accuracy.
• Validate documentation through hands-on testing and stakeholder review.
• Manage version control and ensure document integrity and audit readiness.
• Use collaboration and content management tools such as Confluence, Jira, and SharePoint.

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer in a software, IT, or cybersecurity environment.

• Familiarity with compliance documentation and audit preparation for ISO, SOC 2, and GDPR.
• Proficiency with tools like Confluence, Jira, and diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Draw.io).
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
• High English proficiency (IELTS Band 8 or equivalent).
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in technical and regulated environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to cybersecurity principles and risk-based documentation.
• Background in technical support, globalization, or multilingual environments.
• Front-end development knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
• Experience with training or instructional design.
