Description
- Provide support to Project Manager, Contracting, or junior level Engineering personnel
- Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation
- Study product samples and talk with product designers and developers
- Work with technical staff to make products easier to use and thus need fewer instructions
- Organize and write supporting documents for products
- Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding
- Create operating instructions, how-to manuals, assembly instructions, and “frequently asked questions” pages
- Select appropriate medium for message or audience, such as manuals or online videos
- Standardize content across platforms and media
- Gather usability feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers
- Revise documents as new issues arise. Store current projects in a logical file structure and maintain backup files
- Maintain positive, open, and productive relationships with both co-workers and customers
- Prioritize work and make good time management decisions
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Training (both required and desired):
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline required
Experience:
- 0+ years of professional experience required
- 2+ years of professional experience in the task area preferred
Security:
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain a security clearance required
Physical Requirements
- Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
- Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
- Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
- Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time
