Job Description

We’re looking for a Technical Writer

We’re looking for somebody who can ask the right questions, distil information, and then produce clear, coherent, and concise internal documentation.

About us

Fast, flexible finance empowers small businesses to manage their cash flow better and seize opportunities – making their business and the economy stronger as a whole. At iwoca, we do just that. We help businesses get the funds they need, when they need it, often within minutes. We’ve already made several billion in funding available to over 100,000 businesses since we launched in 2012, and positioned ourselves as a leading Fintech in Europe.

Our mission is to finance one million businesses. We’ll get there by continuing to make our finance ever more relevant and accessible to more businesses by combining cutting-edge technology, data science and a 5-star customer service.

Your mission

  • Document the concepts, systems, and processes that make iwoca work.
  • Reduce knowledge silos and consolidate information.
  • Support others to write things down in a way that is useful and findable.
  • Keep our documentation up-to-date and maintain documentation standards.

  • An academic background in STEM.
  • Experience in technical writing or editing.
  • Outstanding written English and verbal communication.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organisation, project management, and project prioritisation skills.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Git, GitLab or GitHub.
  • Experience writing technical content.
  • Programming experience.

We expect to pay from £40,000 to £75,000 for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and regularly remunerate staff for their increasing value to our business.

At iwoca, we prioritise a culture of learning, growth, and support, and invest in the professional development of our team members. You’ll have access to ample opportunities for skill-building, mentorship, and career progression.

We value diversity in skill and thought, and encourage you to explore new areas of interest to help us innovate and improve our products and services.

We have a friendly and inclusive environment, and flexible work policies, to ensure that you’ll be able to balance work and life, empowering you to thrive both personally and professionally.

We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a brilliant place to work:

  • Offices in London, Leeds and Frankfurt.
  • Events and clubs, like bingo, comedy nights, yoga classes, football…
  • Two company retreats a year, we’ve been to France, Italy, Spain and further afield.
  • Plenty of drinks and snacks in our office.
  • Hybrid working with a WFH budget for your home office.

Our benefits:

  • Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym membership.
  • 25 days’ holiday and an extra day off for your birthday.
  • Instant access to emotional and mental health support with our partner, Spill.
  • Share options.
  • Generous maternity leave and shared parental leave.
  • A nursery tax benefit scheme to help you save money.
  • Paid volunteering time to support your chosen charity.
  • Extra leave if you want to travel or study.
