Job Description

GeoComply is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to produce high-quality customer-facing content that contributes to the overall success of our products.

As the Technical Writer, you will create, maintain and improve technical documentation for our software products. You are part of a team of Technical Writers who work collaboratively with product managers, developers, quality engineers and usability experts to create content that is easy to understand and promotes product adoption.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Work with product, engineering, sales and customer success teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
  • Create, edit and review technical documentation, including user manuals, online help, release notes, and other documentation as required.
  • Recommend and implement best practices for cohesive documentation across all mediums - in-product help, online support, and printable product documentation.
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, release notes, online help, developer guides, implementation guides, product documentation, and API documentation suitable for its intended audience with the focus of helping them quickly and efficiently accomplish their goals.
  • Ensure documentation is consistent with branding and style guidelines.
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
  • Utilize feedback from internal teams and customers to improve documentation continuously; manage updates and revisions to all documentation.

About You

  • 2+ years experience in technical writing for software products.
  • Experience administrating customer-facing documentation portals/platforms with a working knowledge of content authoring tools like Google docs, Confluence, and Markdown-based content management tools.
  • Experience writing release notes, product updates, product copy, in-product help documentation, and tutorials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development and publishing documents with a strict cadence that aligns with product releases.
  • Experience creating developer, API, implementation and administration guides.
