Your Role & Mission

This position is open to International Candidates, but preferred U.S. Residents

As a member of the Marketing team, you will be responsible for supporting Technical Writing and updates to our Knowledge Base to help our users win with Apollo. To be successful, you will need a deep understanding of the solutions and use cases our customers are reliant on when they chose to leverage Apollo’s platform. Internally you will partner closely with Product Managers, Product Marketing, and Customer Enablement while working with the Marketing team to create and promote your technical messaging and content.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to influence and drive initiatives across cross-functional teams.

This role reports to the Director of Product Marketing.

Daily Adventures and Responsibilities:

Article Creation 

  • Create, edit and launch documentation for all product feature launches L0-L3 in your product lane for the Apollo Knowledge Base

  • Achieve 10,000 weekly views across top 5 articles with an average of 1.25 minutes per article reaching over 5,000 users within the first 6 months

  • Work closely with 5 technical SMEs to create well-crafted and accurate documentation that empowers users to be more self-serve decreasing the number of “no results” by 5%

  • QA new content for the Product Education Team each quarter

  • Create 3 videos per quarter that achieve >300 views after 3 months with over 20% view completion

Knowledge Base

  • Update KB documentation for all product updates throughout the quarter & maintain article freshness score of 6 months on an ongoing basis each quarter

  • Respond to and complete over 5 Knowledge Base update requests in our kb-management Slack channel per quarter

  • Complete KB1.0 to KB2.0 document migration by end of first 3 months

  • Contribute to KB Brand Development with updates to structure and visual strategy that improve time spent on KB by 10%

  • Problem solve 1 monthly challenge cross-functionally or based on GA of KB and implement the solution to drive smarter documentation decisions

Competencies/Key Traits:

  • Excellent written skills in English

  • Demonstrable experience writing content for various mediums, including knowledge base articles, blogs, etc.

  • Self-motivated

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Exceptional project and time-management skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Familiarity with how to create and edit content using a style guide

  • A degree in English, Journalism, Communication, Engineering, or Computer Science or comparable professional experience

  • Ability to translate highly technical information into easily understandable information for customers

  • Creative skills and usage of videos, photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding is a bonus

Skills:

  • An understanding of HTML and markdown syntax

  • Experience with Github

  • Experience using a content management system (CMS) like ZenDesk and Intercom

  • Experience with video creation is a bonus

Relevant Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 1.5 years of technical writing experience

  • At least 6 months in B2B SaaS

  • Ideally, over 3 years of technical writing or some experience in sales or sales tech
