Tom’s Guide is here to help you accomplish your goals, find great products without the hassle and make purchases with confidence. From our strong foundation in consumer technology coverage, Tom’s Guide’s primary ambition is to help you leverage tech to achieve your ultimate goal, whether it’s getting in shape, protecting your kids, being more productive, managing your money more effectively or just having fun.

What you’ll be doing…

Tom’s Guide is among the fastest-growing websites focused on consumer products, and we’re looking for a full-time deals writer to help us cover the latest new products and highlight the best bargains on the web. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to break into e-commerce writing. You’ll learn how to create punchy, concise articles across a broad range of topics including tech, fitness, lifestyle, and more. Plus, you’ll learn the ins and outs of SEO while bringing your content to a global audience.

This writer’s North Star is helping consumers to get the best gadgets at the best prices. This position requires a keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be intimately familiar with a variety of consumer product categories, from smartphones to kitchen appliances.

  • Help people find the best products for the money through engaging articles.
  • Independently find, research, and identify the best deals on today’s top products.
  • Create and update articles that cover all aspects of the shopping process, from saving money to avoiding scams.
  • Work with editors to update various product roundups that center on value, identifying best sellers we should be reviewing.
  • Write first-person experiential reviews of products with a focus on the best bargains
  • Extreme attention to detail with ability to produce copy that is clean and accurate.
  • Stay up to date on the latest deal news from companies like Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy.
  • Collaborate with social and e-commerce teams daily to continue to grow this category for Tom’s Guide.
  • Ability to write snappy, engaging headlines and content.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

  • Professional writing or editing experience
  • Familiarity with the technology and consumer products industry
  • Experience researching SEO trends and analyzing traffic is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required

What’s in it for you…
