If yes, then you may be YorkshireLive’s newest Shopping Writer. This is an exciting opportunity to write informative and engaging content that include revenue generating affiliate links, providing our readers with up to date and honest reviews about the trending products and deals.

We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

This role is home based but linked to our YorkshireLive team, so ideally, candidates would be based in or around Yorkshire, however we are open to candidates from within the UK for a fully remote role.

Job Description

What will the role involve?

You will play a pivotal role in the YorkshireLive team and will support our plans to grow our affiliate content, by writing engaging and informative reviews and social content. You will create content covering a wide variety of topics as well as providing additional support around major affiliate opportunities including Black Friday, concert launches, Amazon Prime Day and more.

You will maintain a portfolio of evergreen content that will remain updated and rank well in search results. Your reviews will include affiliate links to monetise your editorial output and you will keep your finger on the pulse of the latest deals. This role involves working shifts on a rota basis including some weekends and evenings, so a flexible approach is required.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

You are an NCTJ qualified journalist or equivalent with media law knowledge and a proven track record of working in a fast paced digital newsroom environment. You are brimming with pitches for exciting new audience led content and you have a keen eye for spotting trending content and products that you think our readers would be interested in. You ideally have a good understanding of Yorkshire and know what our YorkshireLive audiences are interested in.

You have excellent knowledge of social media platforms, especially Tik Tok and can create engaging video content both behind of and in front of the camera. You are a first class writer who can create accurate content at pace and meet deadlines with ease. You have excellent commercial awareness and experience in crafting organic SEO content.
