Tech & Learning’s award-winning digital publications, websites, newsletters, and events provide factual and evaluative information on trends, products, and strategies to support education leaders’ efforts to drive innovation in their districts.

The Tech & Learning Senior Staff Writer joins a fun team of experts and a respected brand that has reported on education since 1980. The Tech & Learning Senior Staff Writer will develop and write regular features, news stories, and custom content about education in addition to covering and reporting on education events and conferences. Success will be measured by increased audience engagement and growth, advertiser satisfaction, and completion to deadline of all tasks. The role also requires continuous content innovation and evolution to support Tech & Learning’s mission to be the top resource for education professionals.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Write at least 3 original articles for the website each week 
  • Work with the editorial team to develop, plan, execute, and publish content that engages the target audience
  • Assist the editorial team  in promoting site content daily through social media, newsletters, and other channels
  • Develop SEO-optimized stories and custom content covering Tech & Learning events. 
  • Proactively suggest ideas for new content-based products that the commercial team can sell against; e.g. whitepapers, research, executive summaries, etc.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

  • Enthusiastic writer with an eye for identifying the unique stories behind the stories, and telling them articulately in a timely manner
  • Experience with SEO best content practices
  • Proactive attitude to learning about the brand and the industry 
  • Experience with Content Management Systems 
  • Strong communication skills, both internally and externally, with the goal of establishing solid relationships with the market
  • Organized, composed, and able to take on a variety of responsibilities
  • Accurate and diligent copy editor and proofreader
  • A team player who is able and willing to go above and beyond to assist the team in fulfilling their responsibilities  
  • Social media and video production experience not required but a plus.
