Senior Medical Writer / Scriber – US Hours (Remote)

ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa – we are a global BPO company, partnering with a US-based client, in the Healthcare sector. We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Writer / Scriber to join our team, working remotely from South Africa.

This role involves documenting patients detailed medical history, details of physical examinations, test results, diagnosis, treatment plans and other important information in order to produce accurate and professional medical reports and ensuring compliance with USA healthcare standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical writing or transcription and possess an understanding of the U.S. healthcare system, terminologies, and documentation practices. Experience in managing medical writers / scribers will be an added benefit.

NOTE:

• Working Hours: This role requires you to work US based hours (EST) (15h00 – 24h00 SAST) Mon – Fri.

• Work Environment: This is a remote role for South African Citizens only.

• Internet: Applying candidates must have fast internet and an available electricity backup system during loadshedding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Medical Documentation: Accurately transcribe and document patient encounters, consultations, and other medical communications.
• Report Writing: Prepare, edit, and proofread medical reports, clinical summaries, research papers, and other healthcare-related documentation.
• Compliance: Ensure that all written content adheres to USA healthcare guidelines, HIPAA compliance, and other relevant regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, healthcare providers, and other team members to gather relevant information and clarify medical terminology or findings.
• Research: Stay updated with current medical terminology, procedures, and healthcare trends in the USA.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of medical documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of medical writing, transcription, or scribing experience.
• Prior experience working with USA healthcare systems is required.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and USA healthcare compliance standards is preferred.
• Experience in managing medical writers / scribers will be an added benefit.

Skills:

• Strong command of medical terminology and healthcare procedures specific to the USA.
• Excellent English communication, written and editing skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
