Whether in a museum, on a cave wall, or pervading popular culture, art influences how people communicate, tell stories, and make meaning. But the study of its history can at times feel limited or unrelatable to students' daily lives. We're looking for a writer who can make a sometimes highbrow and opaque subject accessible and engaging by highlighting its incredible diversity---of media, artist identities, styles, and more.
Crash Course, owned by Complexly, is an award-winning YouTube channel that invites students, teachers, and lifelong learners to tackle subjects they might have had trouble with or are curious to learn more about. Our videos take traditional classroom concepts and combine them with interesting and insightful narratives to help people learn and understand.
As a freelance script writer, you'll be asked to work with a subject matter expert and editor to write episodes for our Art History series. Every script you write should be accurate and engaging for our audience. We're looking for someone with a background in art history or related fields and/or educational communication. Ideally, you have a passion for art and want to share excitement over the subject with a broad audience.
