Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Technical Writer to join our documentation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for learning the technical and practical aspects of our hardware and software products and creating comprehensive and user-friendly manual content for our internal and external customers. Key Responsibilities: Technical Documentation: – Develop, write, and maintain e.g. user manuals, service manuals and integrator manuals for our hardware and software products. – Create clear, concise, and well-structured content that caters to the needs of end-users with varying levels of technical expertise. – Collaborate with engineers, product managers and other stakeholders to gather information and understand product specifications and functionalities. – Translate complex technical information into easily understandable language. Internal Documentation: – Produce internal documentation such as service instructions, standard solutions documents and technical bulletins. – Ensure internal documents are up-to-date, accurate, and accessible to relevant departments. Content Development: – Develop content for the different manuals. – Work with the different departments to understand the working of the machines and the functionality of the software. Quality Assurance: – Review and edit documentation created by other team members to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. – Conduct usability testing on documentation to ensure it meets user needs and expectations. – Check the content against the requirements of the related standards and regulations to ensure the completeness of the content and information. Continuous Improvement: – Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in technical writing and documentation. – Propose and implement improvements to existing documentation processes and templates. Qualifications: – Education: – Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: – Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the technology or manufacturing industry. – Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to quickly learn new technologies. – Excellent written and verbal communication skills. – Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and others. – The knowledge of Help+Manual is an advantage. – Ability to organize and present complex information in a clear and concise manner. – Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation. – Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines. – Basic knowledge of machinery safety is always an advantage. Preferred: – Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems. – Familiarity with hardware and software development processes. – Knowledge of graphic design tools for creating illustrations and diagrams such as GIMP or photoshop. – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment – Good communicator (English & dutch)
