What’s the job?

Within the Saint Gobain family, CertainTeed & GCP are seeking a Product Manager to drive sustainable growth of our Building Envelope line of business, with a focus on modified asphalt low-slope roofing, through excellent product line management. Success in the position is tied to a keen understanding of macro and regional market trends while working cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Quality & Compliance departments to drive product development, pricing, positioning, and branding. The Product Manager is responsible for ensuring the low-slope roofing product line reflects both market demands and strategic business objectives. The position is also a key support function for field sales and customers. This individual must possess strong interpersonal/communication skills and be a results-driven strategic thinker. This position will be incorporated into our Commercial Building & Infrastructure business unit, of which Building Envelope is included. CertainTeed/GCP headquarters is in Malvern, Pennsylvania. This position may be remote.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • In conjunction with the Director of Product Management, Senior Product Manager and Director of Sales, help build strategic plan for profitable business growth
  • Manage product portfolio to align with business growth strategy, maximize market share, sales and profitability, including product additions, deletions and changes
  • Responsible for market research, environment and competitive analysis related to product portfolio including travel with field sales and customers
  • Help develop pricing strategy for profitable growth of assigned product lines
  • Assist in development of product marketing plan to include brand management, product positioning, and promotion
  • Responsible for content development for marketing; requires strength in positioning and messaging products in a relevant way to key stakeholders
  • Drive new product development and innovation process to expand portfolio, leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Participate and travel to trade shows, customer events, educational seminars and additional activities in support of Building Envelope business
  • Ability to handle multiple projects of varied importance to the promised deliverable results
  • Work with Director of Sales to provide forecasts to Supply Chain
  • Work with Supply Chain to manage SKU stocking positions and levels, nationally

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a Technical discipline
  • 5-7 years of marketing experience preferably in a product management function
  • A keen understanding of the modified asphalt low-slope roofing market segment, competitive landscape and code/compliance requirements is a plus..
  • Demonstrated capability in strategy, planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring projects and programs.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and computer skills with the ability to work effectively and positively within all organizational levels.
  • Required to be an excellent writer and communicator
  • have the flexibility to travel 10-20%.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams in product related projects.
  • Have a reasonable understanding of P&L calculations, product costing, and general financial aptitude.
