Job Description

NewMarket Group, a part of The Agora Companies, is seeking a News Editor to join one their most successful brands.

In 2015, NewMarket launched The Horn News, a daily online conservative news service to offer engaging and informative content for their readers.

Since then, The Horn News has become one of the largest independent news outlets in the country.

They’re a close team that enjoy innovation, collaboration, and creative thinking.

They believe in creating quality and engaging news stories that grab the attention of their readers and connect them with the news they’re passionate about.

If you have an entrepreneurial mindset, enjoy thinking outside the box, and want to join a successful, motivated team – then this is the job for you.

The News Editor will work closely with The Horn News’ Executive Director to create engaging editorial content daily.

The Horn News is fiercely independent and proudly American, and they’re looking for an editor that will help them create original content that tells the untold story.

This isn’t a position for someone tied down to the Associated Press Stylebook.

This is for someone that can apply critical thinking to grab readers attention with untold, engaging stories.

This is for someone who is insatiably curious and is willing to ask the uncomfortable questions to uncover the facts.

If you’re willing to go the extra mile for the story and can read between the lines to find the truth, you’ll love it here.

You will write and edit a variety of news articles that will be sent to hundreds of thousands of readers daily, proof-read and fact-checking a variety of editorial projects, and will reach out to politicians, celebrities, and news makers to dig-up the untold story.

Position requirements:

  • 1-2 years of professional writing and editing experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Passion for the craft of storytelling and the news.
  • Proactive, curious, innovative, and self-starter should be words that describe you.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the best general practices in direct marketing is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience in journalism and conservative news is a plus, but not required.
  • If interested, please submit a resume and cover letter to the link provided.
