We are Health Unlimited and we are looking for an ambitious Medical Writer to join our Medical Education team in Soho, London. We work for pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer health companies, government agencies, medical societies and advocacy organisations.

The Medical Writer is a key role within our agency. You will have excellent writing skills and a broad understanding of clinical medicine. Working across a range of projects, you will take pride in delivering exceptional educational programmes and will be highly organised and forward thinking to ensure that all deliverables meet your clients’ needs. You are looking to develop your skills, grow and develop your experience and reach senior medical writer level.

You will work with a talented team and be supported by people who have enormous experience and expertise to share. We seek a strong team player who works collaboratively while also being confident to work independently.

A bit about the job…

Editorial proficiency

  • Experience of delivering a range of different written outputs
  • Confident in flexing writing style to appeal to a wide range of audiences
  • A level of experience developing tailored solutions to meet client needs and improved clarity of project outcomes
  • Experience of working across both medical and commercial projects would be advantageous

Strategic and scientific understanding

  • Trusted scientific partner and client counsel on the accounts under your remit, gaining the respect and trust of the clients
  • In-depth and confident understanding of clients’ scientific strategy
  • In-depth and confident understanding of at least one therapy areas (more would be advantageous)

Team responsibilities

  • Ensure highest scientific standards and clinical accuracy across projects and teams through the implementation of editorial processes and SOPs
  • Involved in editorial team development and structure

New business responsibilities

  • Experience of creating the scientific story for new business proposals and presenting new proposals would be advantageous but not essential
  • Generating new ideas/proposals for organic growth with existing clients

Requirements

  • Manage timings and implementation of account deliverables with confidence and accuracy
  • High standards in grammar and understanding of the editorial skills needed for excellence in communication
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of end user needs (Patient, KOL, HCP, client)
  • Possess a creative and ‘can do’ outlook combined with an ability to work under pressure to set deadlines
  • A willingness to understand the information landscape and develop new editorial skills as necessary for the role and business
