Job Description

Description

At Clarion, our people are at the absolute heart of what we do. We’re proud that our core values of PASSION, CARE, IMAGINATION, and TRUST define the way we carry out our work across all of our exhibitions and conferences.

If you share our values and want to be a part of a successful, dynamic, and creative global business then we want to hear from you.

The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Managing Editor to become a next generation leader at iGB, driving the news, analysis and data content for the brand. This will create the cornerstone of our offering with the best news, analysis, and data in the industry, driving audience growth and engagement by creating valuable editorial content. This role focuses on the core European region – one of the most mature gambling markets – but with scope to explore and develop content around emerging regions such as Latin America and Africa.

We have built a large B2B gaming audience through the brand, and are looking for new perspectives, strong journalistic instincts and innovative thinking on how we enhance our editorial offering. Reporting into our content director and working alongside our US managing editor, this is a key role in shaping our content output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive our daily news output, working with a team of three journalists to produce in-depth content.
  • Oversee the execution of a content calendar covering markets around the world, producing features, analysis pieces and interviews.
  • Build and leverage contacts across the industry to chase down and break news stories.
  • Work with the Clarion Gaming Digital marketing team to ensure their acquisition campaigns are always fuelled by relevant industry content.
  • Work with our data team to track editorial content performance, and spot opportunities to better engage the audience.
  • Act as a face for iGB, leading webinar discussions, interviewing key executives on camera and present podcasts.
  • Manage a network of freelancers from around the world to ensure we maintain a global view of the market.
  • Act as a leader for the editorial team, helping them develop professionally.
  • Contribute to projects such as the ICE Live TV studio at our events business’ main tradeshow, and shaping a newsletter strategy.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Experience running specialist media sites and managing expansive projects is essential.
  • Experience covering highly regulated industries and tracking regulatory developments.
  • A strategic brain with the ability to understand and assess data.
  • Experience as an editor, but retaining the inquisitive mindset of a reporter.
  • The ability to be a constructive, sensitive and inspiring manager.
  • A willingness to engage and introduce new concepts and developments.
  • A self-assured, confident leader who is undaunted by challenges.
