Boldspace is looking for a talented industry expert to join the agency and lead its Corporate PR business, building on the work the agency has done over the last few years and continue to build upon out industry-leading offering.

As the Head of Corporate PR, you will will play a lead role on relevant accounts, responsible for delivering outstanding strategy, ideas and execution, and play a crucial role in growing this area of work at Boldspace. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 10-15 years of proven experience, including time spent working with clients across a wide-range of sectors and corporate PR activity. Our corporate client list includes TGI Fridays, the Post Office, Bolt, KPMG, BetMGM, carwow, Saltus, Nottingham Building Society, the Institute of Export & International Trade, Socios.com. 

Requirements

The Head of Corporate will oversee the operations and growth of the Corporate PR team and work, which sits as part of the integrated Brand Reputation practice, alongside the Head of Consumer. The person will work closely with other senior leads and be part of the agency’s management group, representing the corporate team and working to drive truly integrated clients across brand, communications and analytics. 

You will: 

  • Be a senior contact for a number of client accounts, providing advice that gives them confidence and builds long-term relationships. 
  • Play a leadership role in an existing team of PR professionals and work with the agency’s wider talent across creative, strategy, digital, and analytics to delivery truly outstanding service and outcomes for clients. 
  • Work with delivery leads to drive agency performance, ensuring the standard of output across the agency is second-to-none – always faultless, proactive, meaningful, and fame-changing for our clients. 
  • Be responsible for growth by both driving the agency’s profile in the corporate space and through your own ability to network and originate opportunities to pitch. 
  • Take the lead in drafting relevant new business proposals, often independently while seeking and managing input from across multiple teams. 
  • Manage and work with the existing team, and bring in your own people as growth allows – upskilling, inspiring and leading them to become the best in the industry. 
  • Note that the role does not include any listed financial communications activity, though could involve financial communications work for private, non-listed scale-up businesses – for example around funding rounds. 

The skills we are seeking:

  • Senior advice: you will be a confident, experienced voice in the room, both in client meetings and new business pitches. You will be working with and reporting up to CEO/founder level with some clients, and need to feel confident working at that level and providing advice that meets the expectations of experienced, impressive and well-connected clients. 
  • Corporate experience: you will have corporate experience at a senior level (Director or above) within an agency setting, and will be as comfortable handling announcements and providing strategic advice as you are thinking about creative corporate concepts.  
  • Team management: you will know how to manage and inspire a team of people to do their best work each and every day. 
  • Growth focused: you’ll be excited about the opportunity to grow a team within Boldspace that becomes known over time as one that is exciting, different and amongst the best in the industry within the corporate space. 
  • Commercial understanding: you will understand how agencies run commercially, how to drive profitability and grow a team that not only does outstanding work, but one that is commercially efficient. 
  • Media relations expertise: you will have a wide-ranging knowledge of media tactics and best practice, and a strong set of existing media relationships. 
  • Multi-channel experience: you will equally understand that PR is not all media relations, and will understand how to ensure the full channel mix is brought to the fore in driving positive reputation for clients. 
  • Intelligence and problem solving: fundamentally we want smart people who can provide deep advice to our clients on some of the biggest issues they face, and do so independently. You will be able to address these problems on a day-to-day basis and provide solutions to clients without needing regular input. 
  • Writing: you are a strong writer with an ability to think and create at pace, both with the creation and direction of client content as well as in crafting new business proposals. 
  • Attention to detail: you are someone that never allows a document to leave the agency with a single mistake.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10-15 years’ proven experience working on clients delivering corporate PR programmes and campaigns. 
  • A good knowledge of the media landscape with established relationships and demonstrable campaign delivery in the past. 
  • Polished presenter and adept at explaining relevant PR terms and outcomes to senior clients. 
  • Experience of developing new business, both in leading pitch processes and using your own ideas and network to originate opportunities. 
  • Management experience of developing star performers and overseeing performance.
