We’re looking for a writing expert freelancer. As a writing expert freelancer, you will revise user-submitted texts for correctness (e.g., grammar, spelling, punctuation).

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has 2+ years of editing experience
  • Speaks and writes English skillfully and has an excellent grasp of English grammar and communication
  • Prioritizes customer value by providing users with the highest-quality edits
  • Makes decisions quickly after evaluating multiple inputs
  • Interprets and implements complex, detailed, and ambiguous guidelines, which at times may be different from one’s usual/personal standards, to support various types of editing
  • Improves written communication while keeping the user’s original intent in mind
  • Strong ability to work through detailed writing and identifying errors or recommendations, especially when working on repetitive tasks
  • Is empathetic when reviewing users’ writing and/or providing feedback on tasks or guidelines
  • Positively embraces change and ambiguity due to working in a dynamic industry
  • Manages multiple projects or clients simultaneously
  • Knows how to work asynchronously by leveraging existing productivity and communication tools (e.g., Slack, Google Docs)
  • Has experience editing professional writing (e.g., business emails, industry papers, etc.)
