Job Description

Directive Consulting is the performance marketing agency for SaaS companies. We use Customer Generation (a marketing methodology developed by us) which focuses on SQLs and Customers instead of traditional metrics like MQLs. We offer Paid Media, SEO, Performance Creative and Design, Video, Revenue Operations, and Strategy services to our clients by creating comprehensive digital marketing strategies that allow our clients to hit their SQL targets, every time.

As a Freelance Copywriter at Directive, you will be immersed in our two major growth departments — Video and Creative Services, working with us on a project-by-project basis. This role is a fantastic chance to showcase your creative prowess, collaborating directly with our designers, SEO specialists, paid media specialists, and more to develop truly collaborative, data-driven content for websites, videos, landing pages, and paid ads.

You will engage directly with designers, and team members, crafting intelligent conceptual scripts that captivate audiences and generate leads. Your involvement will also extend to our design team, guiding headline and copy approaches for high-converting landing pages and website copy, and working in tandem with our paid media team to formulate punchy, benefit-driven digital ads that deliver results.

Our ideal candidate is a great conceptual thinker with a knack for making clients say, “Why didn’t we think of that?” You easily distill complex product benefits into simple, emotionally-driven pieces of communication. You understand a landing page without a personality is unengaging, and crafting a story with emotion will yield better results

We are looking for someone with an ad agency background who is not only great at producing written content, but also socially intuitive, collaborative, and passionate about working with a team. You’re deadline-driven, a joy to work with, and hungry to do great work.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our video, design, SEO, paid media, and other teams to write compelling brand stories in a novel way that resonates with our audience.

  • Delve into creative briefs to thoroughly comprehend the brand, target audience, and the significance of the brand product or service to the intended audience, and then bring it all to life in an emotionally driven manner.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to comprehend the brand, audience segments, and primary value proposition to formulate strategic messaging for highly engaging video products, landing pages, and ads.

  • Coordinate with project management on all production requirements and delivery.

  • Collaborate with designers to create sharp, benefit-driven headlines and intelligent, well-written copy for landing pages, digital ads, fully-featured websites, video scripts, and branding language as needed.

  • Deliver new and innovative copy ideas and solutions.

What You Offer:

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.

  • Exceptional conceptual and visualization skills to solve problems and create innovative solutions.

  • A flair for simplifying complex product features and tech-heavy information into straightforward, relatable communications for customers.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to help the team to “visualize” your ideas.

  • A robust understanding of marketing funnels and the capability to write within a multi-channel strategy.

  • The ability to fully own a project while also collaborating as a team member.

  • Willingness to integrate guiding principles and feedback based on data & information from other teams into your workflow.

$60 – $60 an hour
