Job Description

Job Description

As Editor-In-Chief at WorldCargo News you will be one of the most important journalists in global logistics and trade. Together with your team of journalists and editors you will be responsible for the news articles published in both our magazine and online on our website.

As a journalist at ProMedia, you will have the opportunity to shape your own journalistic role. You will be responsible for co-ordinating all journalists, both on board and freelancers as well as researching and contributing news articles yourself.

As an expert in your field, you will play a key role in curating programs and providing content for our on and offline (in our studio) events. It’s a role with a lot of variety and opportunities. Within the teams, we place equal importance on all journalistic skills, and we’d be delighted to explore how we can find a match with yours.

You will be working within the Rail & Infra which various trade publications. The division is led by the Division Director and includes journalists, event marketing, production and sales teams. There is a high degree of autonomy, and there’s plenty of room for creativity, personal input, and new ideas.

Qualifications

As a true ProMedian, you possess a beginners mind, are ambitious, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. We are a young and dynamic company, and our strength lies in our ability to adapt quickly and respond to change. We are looking for this same flexibility in you.

You have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in journalism, you are naturally curious, and you know how to extract the maximum from your team. You have work experience in all genres of journalism, both online and in print: news articles, background stories, interviews, reports, analyses, and more. In addition to journalistic writing, you are also familiar with marketing texts.

We expect you to work independently, be proactive, and have the courage to challenge both yourself and your colleagues continuously as you pursue continuous professional improvement. You reside in the Netherlands, are fluent in English, and have a Dutch work permit or are an EU resident (you don’t need sponsorship).

Additional Information

We operate within the Publishing Industry Collective Labor Agreement (CAO Uitgeverijbedrijf). Based on your position and experience, you will be classified within our salary structure. In addition to your salary, we offer a pension plan (including partner pension) and a lunch contribution scheme. You will receive a company-issued MacBook and phone, as well as an NS Business card for commuting. You will be working in an environment that allows you space to specialise in your sector. There are opportunities for taking courses and training, as well as career growth options tailored to your ambitions.

You will work in a modern office located in Rotterdam’s most central location, the Delftse Poort (next to Rotterdam Central Station). And lastly, let’s not forget our enjoyable Friday afternoon drinks, sports activities, and memorable staff outings.
