Job purpose

PeopleCert is looking for a Copywriter who will develop and implement end to end B2B and B2C global marketing communications for our language certification products and testing solutions. The role is responsible for promoting our brand and products to partners, the public and influencers through communications via all established communication channels including online.

This job role is for you, if you produce English language copy that: meets business requirements and objectives, is useful and relevant to targeted audiences, presents complex topics in consumer-friendly language, is compliant and SEO optimized, can be repurposed and reused across channels, is consistent in style and tone, and aligned with brand and marketing messaging overall.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Product Marketing Managers, Events team, and other stakeholders to develop creative concepts and campaigns that align with our brands strategy, narrative and tone of voice and target audience insights.
  • Collaborate with subject experts and industry leaders to develop high-quality thought leadership content that enhances the brand’s reputation and authority within the industry.
  • Write clear, compelling, engaging, persuasive and audience-focused copy for a variety of mediums, including but not limited to advertisements, websites, emails, social media, product descriptions, and marketing collateral.
  • Work closely with the Design team on creative content development and to ensure copy aligns with visual elements and overall brand aesthetic.
  • Be familiar with SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach and performance.
  • Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand voice and style guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, competitor strategies, customer needs and emerging technologies to continuously improve copywriting skills and performance.

Minimum required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or related field. A Master’s degree and relevant international certifications will be appreciated.
  • At least 3 years of experience in English language copywriting is a must, preferably in an international environment.
  • Unrivalled copywriting skills (English) for different audiences (media, end-customers, partners, etc.).
  • Excellent command of the English language – preferably mother tongue or C2 level at a minimum (C2 level certification desired, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be a plus).
  • Highly skilled communicator, creative and innovative thinker, able to help the division move into the next phase of its growth.
  • Well organized, self-driven, flexible and able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Prior working experience in the certification of persons and/or training and exam fields would be considered an advantage.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check prior to acommencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

  • If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

o   A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check

o   Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)

o   HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)

o   Financial background check

o   Employment reference check

  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
