How did Web Summit become, in the words of Forbes, “the best tech conference on the planet”? Meaningful connections. Our tech events are unmissable because we make it easier for the right people to meet and connect. Everyone at Web Summit works towards this goal.

And we’re just getting started.

We’re always looking to build on the impact we have already made at Web Summit. In the coming years we’ll take Web Summit to new markets, promoting global connectivity, highlighting important issues and connecting global leaders – all while making a positive impact on the environment and communities we encounter.

To build a better company, we have to better ourselves. We do that by finding the most ambitious people to work with us.

The team

The Web Summit Design team is responsible for the overall art direction and brand management of the company and the events portfolio. This innovative team works on anything and everything that needs a creative touch, including “identity creation” for a portfolio of brands, our events that take place around the world, identity creation and marketing collateral for a number of stages. The team also aids the product team in producing creative assets for websites, apps, ads and much more.

Whether it’s web, print, motion graphics or stage design, this team is tasked with generating fresh ideas that inspire and engage our attendees, partners and clients.

We have an opportunity for a Copy Editor to support our Design Team, on a 4 month FTC.

Main Responsibilities

  • Some of our print items require copy to be proofread before designers create artwork and again before sending files to suppliers for production.
  • All submissions and workflows will be managed using our platform, Monday.com.

What you will do

  • Accessing Tasks: You will be given access to our Monday.com board, where all print requests will be submitted with the relevant information for proofing and copy reviews.
  • Proofing: Review the text in the column labelled “XXX” or in a separate document provided by a stakeholder.
  • Once the copy has been proofread, update the status to “To Do” so the design process can begin.
  • Copy Review: Check the “Artwork” column where the designer has uploaded the artwork.
  • If the copy is approved, change the status to “Owner Review.”If edits are required, leave a comment on the task detailing the necessary changes and update the status to “To Do” to notify the designer.
  • Kickoff Meeting: Before starting the process, we will hold a kickoff meeting with you and the relevant team to review the steps and ensure alignment.
  • Style Guide: You will be provided with an in-house style guide outlining specific terms, internal brands, and other guidelines to help you effectively proof and review artwork.
