Job Overview
Davies US is looking for an experienced Content Writer to support the business’ growing North American business. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for responsible for planning, creating, and proofing content that will increase reader engagement, raise brand awareness, and establish Davies as a thought leader across the North American insurance market.
To be successful in this role, you need to be able to handle multiple projects concurrently and work in a fast-paced environment with good time management skills, including prioritization, scheduling, and adapting as necessary.
You must have 3+ years of experience as a content writer with a proven record of excellent content writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio, be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and have an impeccable grasp of the English language, including, but not limited to idioms and current trends in slang and expressions.
Additionally, you will need have strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to communicate with clients, colleagues, and management as well as an ability work independently with little or no daily supervision while delivering quality work on time. This role is a full-time, home-based position.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Take complete ownership of the content creation for blogs, thought leadership pieces, product brochures, social media posts, website copy, video scripts, interviews, press releases, case studies, and much more
- Work closely with the Marketing Specialists to develop content to support them for campaign activity
- Conduct in-depth research on industry-related topics to develop original content
- Proofread content for errors and inconsistencies
- Live and breathe Davies’ tone of voice and style to make sure all content is consistent and on-brand
- Conduct keyword research using SEO best practices to increase traffic to the company website
- Create compelling headlines and body copy that will capture the attention of the target audience
- Identify customers’ needs and recommend new content strategies and techniques to ensure content is always improving
- Liaise regularly with design to see how content can be bought to life and ensure the final presentation of content is to a high standard
- Follow an editorial calendar and be aware of external events and milestones so that content can be tailored to what is going on across the industry and society more broadly
- Assist with streamlining and developing content as part of the onboarding of any new businesses acquired by Davies

Experience and Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years as a content writer
- A proven record of excellent content writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio/examples
- Impeccable grasp of the English language, including idioms and current trends in slang and expressions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Preferred
- Previous experience writing for the insurance market or with a professional services background

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands This is a home-based, full time, salaried, exempt position that predominantly operates remotely from a professional home-based office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer.
While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand as necessary.
