Signos is on a mission to tackle the obesity epidemic via healthy habits, metabolic signals, and AI. Using a continuous glucose monitor, Signos is powering data-driven weight loss by translating an individual’s metabolic signals into timely recommendations for eating, exercise, and better health.

With over 75% of the American population overweight or obese, Signos provides a new way for people to act on their body’s unique response to what they eat. By making micro changes to people’s everyday routines, we can improve health and kickstart weight loss. The executive team is led by two successful repeat entrepreneurs, an excellent technical leader, a data scientist who wrote an NYT bestseller on consumer behavior, and a Stanford Medical School professor, and they’re just getting started.    

The Opportunity

We are looking for an individual to lead all our copy initiatives, someone who can easily strike the right balance between specificity and accessibility when explaining complex metabolic processes, health data, and the science of glucose management.

This position is for those writers who love both long and short-form content - developing impactful advertising campaigns, driving web traffic, improving email metrics - you’ll have the unique opportunity to touch every aspect of the business and have a tangible impact on overall marketing performance. This role sits within the marketing team, reporting to the CMO.   

Who We’re Looking For

You understand what makes content great. You understand the psychology of health, wellness, and weight loss. You possess the ability to see content through the eyes of the audience that will consume it. You constantly focus on user motivations.

You are a full-stack content creator. While you might be stronger in certain areas than others, you’re comfortable with all aspects of creating content. You can zoom out to think about overall strategy, or zoom in to ensure the right research paper is linked to a blog article. You enjoy high open-rates and love beautiful photography. You understand how to tailor content specifically for each platform and stay accountable by tracking/measuring what’s working.

You take pride in what you do. You are detail oriented. When you put together a quick email campaign, you take accountability for thinking through every audience type and reaction. You obsess over email subject headers, CTAs and copy because you know what a difference these things make.

You are fluent with management tools. Your content files are meticulously organized. You know how to set up campaigns across multiple channels. You can quote reach, sentiment, organic vs. paid likes, etc. with ease. You have a finely-tuned system for running pilots and getting early feedback.

The Role

  • Help shape the brand. As our champion storyteller, you will have major input into the company’s brand and future direction. Your ideas will always be heard.
  • Create email, advertising, paid and organic social media, blog, and landing page copy that’s focused on condensing complex ideas into performance-focused copy.
  • Build something meaningful. Reaching and maintaining a healthy weight instantly improves peoples’ lives, outcomes, and happiness. We are making it simpler and easier for people to listen to their bodies and take actions that work to achieve their health goals.
  • Drive our SEO efforts. Manage our external agency and host of writers to deliver tens of articles a month and other SEO driven initiatives to build out organic content programs.
  • Drive PR efforts. Work with in-house RDs and data team to develop talking points for press mentions. 
  • Develop copy for everything. From new product launches, to organic social media, to long-form content projects, you’ll have the chance to work with a NYT bestselling author and others to make content that is shared, saved, and re-read because it’s that compelling. 
  • Work closely with design, product, data, and marketing to develop brand copy across various digital and non-digital touchpoints.
  • Work with performance marketers to develop, execute, analyze and iterate on copy experiments to enhance content across all channels.
  • Be meticulous when it comes to editing, grammar, and proofreading techniques.
  • Help develop brand style guidelines and enhance them over time.  

Experience & Skills

  • 4+ years experience in marketing; 2+ of those years in copy or product marketing specifically
  • Strong storyteller with the ability to develop campaigns that get customers' attention and build product brands people love
  • Analytical thinker with experience in data-driven marketing
  • A portfolio of writing samples illustrating work across marketing channels
  • Ability to drive experimentation focused on conversion and engagement
  • Experience driving complex projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Eagerness to be hands-on and jump in to write marketing and UX copy
  • Understanding of the health, wellness, and fitness space
  • Major plus if you’ve been on a weight loss journey
