Content Editor, Travel (Fixed Term 12 Months)

About The Role
To play a key part in the editing and publishing of Telegraph Travel’s award-winning digital output, primarily our long-life content and destination guides. Working as part of a small team within the wider department.
Key Responsibilities
- To edit and produce evergreen travel pages, new and updated, to a high standard of quality, enabling the team to meet its publishing targets.
- To support the Travel Features Editor with commissioning relevant content and guides as required.
- To support Travel Features Editor in updating and improving existing evergreen content, and the planning of this.
- To generate ideas, both “live” and evergreen, that will enable Travel to meet its publishing targets.
- To find news ways to drive engagement with travel content, including on social media.
Essential skills
- Experience editing copy independently, to a high standard.
- Experience of CMS environments.
- Experience selecting appropriate imagery.
- Able to work in a fast-moving environment, publishing at speed and to deadline.
- Able to work collaboratively with a team.
Desirable skills
- A background in travel journalism.
- An understanding of what our audience wants to read.
- Experience working with a range of writers and contributors, liaising with them and managing
