About The Role

To play a key part in the editing and publishing of Telegraph Travel’s award-winning digital content,
primarily our industry-leading hotel reviews and destination guides. Working as part of a small team
within the wider department.

Key Responsibilities
● To edit and produce evergreen digital hotel review pages, new and updated, to a high standard of quality, enabling the hotels team to meet its publishing targets.
● To support the Senior Commissioning Editor, Hotels; Senior Content Editor, Hotels with commissioning of hotel reviews and destination guides as required.
● To support the Senior Commissioning Editor, Hotels in updating and improving existing evergreen content, and the planning of this.
● To generate ideas for both “live” and utility content, that will enable Travel to meet its publishing targets.
● To find news ways to drive engagement with travel content, particularly on social media.

Essential skills
● Experience editing copy independently, to a high standard.
● Experience selecting appropriate imagery.
● Able to work in a fast-moving environment, publishing at speed and to deadline.
● Able to spot legal issues (particularly defamation) and act appropriately.
● Able to work collaboratively with a team.

Desirable skills
● A background in travel journalism – and ideally, a good working knowledge of hotels specifically.
● An understanding of what our audience wants to read.
● Experience working with a range of writers and contributors, liaising with them and managing their copy.
