Job Description

Are you a stickler for proper spelling and grammar? Do you love editing content so it matches brand voice seamlessly while effortlessly offering useful information to readers? If yes, we’d love to chat! Who we are We’re moveBuddha. An online company that helps people move long distances by giving them price estimates, and helping them find the right moving company. We’re hiring a full-time editor (rather than a contractor or freelancer) who will work closely with our content team. The ideal candidate will have experience editing optimized content and managing a team of freelance writers. You’ll be a key member of our team, attending team meetings & contributing on a high level. You should be familiar with SEO best practices and know how to craft articles to meet search intent. Bonus points if you have knowledge on topics in the moving industry such as reviews of moving companies, moving tips, and moving industry regulations. For each post, we will provide you with a detailed checklist that will help you edit content with our SEO goals in mind. You’ll also need to be comfortable uploading and publishing blog posts in WordPress classic editor. It’s okay if you don’t have experience directly in the moving industry, as long as you have the editing chops we are looking for. Our ideal candidate Is a native English speaker Has the availability to edit 8-10 articles per week (each article is between 1000-1500 words) Has experience uploading and publishing articles in WordPress Has experience using editing and SEO tools like Clearscope, Grammarly, and The Hemingway App Is comfortable managing a team of 3-4 writers and liaising with the content team to ensure SEO goals are met Optional, but a huge plus: Has experience working in or writing about the moving industry Bonus points if you have experience with or have been messing around with AI writing tools As our editor, you’ll Electronically edit digital content for common spelling, typographical, and grammar errors, checking for consistency of structure and style throughout. Perform editorial reviews of key content with a focus on an overall assessment of the story being told, messaging, appropriate tone and readability level for the audience, etc. Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work. Quickly develop an understanding of a piece’s purpose and context and proofread it accordingly. Work independently, juggling multiple same-day deadlines; connect directly with the project delivery team as needed if any deadlines are in jeopardy to proactively suggest solutions.
