Primary Purpose

This is a key role within the Communications and Content team focused primarily on delivering high quality communications to members, employers and partners. You’ll work within a collaborative and supportive team environment to:

  • Scope, develop and write compelling, differentiated and on brand copy that makes super simple for members, employers, partners and other audiences
  • Contribute to the content strategy and identify opportunities to increase brand affinity.

You’ll work closely with your team leader, constantly striving to exceed expectations and surprise and delight Rest members and partners.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Create high quality and effective communications and copy for Rest members, employers and other audiences that is consistent with the Rest brand strategy, and reflects Rest’s tone of voice
  • Make even regulatory and service communications delightfully simple and effective, thinking visually and identifying opportunities for fewer words and more visuals such as infographics or video formats
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager, Communications and Content to develop and execute the Rest member content strategy, and work in conjunction with Designers and videographers (both internal and agency) to creatively solve briefs in a differentiated, innovation and effective way
  • Write copy for a variety of media including social, long form content, landing pages, blogs, eDM, DM, print, video, and online, and tailor it to meet member needs based on member and segment insights
  • Handle end to end execution of content, including the development of ideas for new content across various formats and channels
  • Editing and proofing of written content from across the team, to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content, and that there is cohesion across content to reflect Rest’s tone of voice
  • Stay current on trends and competitors within the editorial sphere, including upcoming trends in technology and the digital space

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and / or a minimum of 5+ years equivalent experience in communications, content and copywriting

Required experience, understanding or credentials including:

• Strong creative writing skills

• Proven ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently

• Creative thinker

• Impeccable attention to detail

• Ability to be autonomous, proactive and plan and manage deadlines

• The ability to translate data into user-friendly information

• Strong interviewing, content research, and communication skills

• Experience in writing and editing content across a broad variety of formats and for a range of digital channels

• Strong project management skills: planning, issues management, execution

• Creative problem solver and able to generate ideas

• Collaborative with strong stakeholder management skills
