Are you an audience behaviour expert with an eye for commercial opportunities? We are looking for a Consumer & Commerce Audience Editor to join our central Affiliates team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build an in-depth and multi-level understanding of our audience and how they interact with our affiliate content, using third party data together with our own to generate insights and actionable intelligence to aid our affiliate efforts.
You will work with our leading Reach titles including the Mirror, Express, Manchester Evening News & and more on their full-funnel commerce content strategies to best understand their audiences through analysis and segmentation, prioritising customer focus, known users and engagement. You will develop, implement and manage initiatives to grow audience engagement across both our own platforms and third parties through actionable insights and innovation.

This role is home based and we are therefore open to candidates based across the UK.
Job Description
What will the role involve?
You will analyse the affiliates team content performance, reviewing what content generates revenue and on which platforms. You will utilise this data to create in-depth content strategy plans that boost audience engagement and revenue. You will guide the group’s commerce publishing strategy and help lead on implementing change across multiple titles.
You will use your expert knowledge of audience growth to track news media sites to map strategy and spot areas for improvement. You will write engaging audience insights with full context and strategic suggestions. You will use your understanding of affiliate content to balance an e-commerce vs scale model. This role will involve working occasional weekend shifts around high volume shopping days including Black Friday and Amazon Prime events.
Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
You have demonstrable experience working in a similar role within a news environment (ideally with a journalism background), with a strong focus on optimizing content for search, discovery, and social platforms. You are familiar with the affiliate industry and standard partners and networks, such as Trackonomics, Skimlinks, and Awin. You have the excellent organizational and planning skills necessary to manage the daily, weekly, and monthly publishing flow within an editorial team. You are experienced in collaborating with editors to enhance content growth and increase revenue both on-site and across multiple platforms.
You can analyse complex issues to develop actionable insights and plans and have proven commercial acumen and familiarity in metrics such as click-through rates, conversion rates, and average order value. You are adept at using data from proprietary platform analytics such as Facebook and Amplitude, as well as third-party aggregate sources like CrowdTangle. You have the ability to interpret data and make insightful recommendations, while planning exciting content for our readers.
