Job Description

Position Overview

 The Parade Media Lifestyle Group is looking for an Associate Editor with a sharp eye for what’s trending in the food and beverage space and a fun, engaging voice to help us expand our coverage in big and exciting ways. You’re a quick writer with a healthy obsession for food–someone who binges British Baking Show and anything Gordon Ramsey, orders off of Starbucks’ secret menu, and is a sucker for the latest TikTok recipe trend–and can’t wait to share your insider info and perspective with our audience. You have impeccable attention to detail too–able to optimize and update existing evergreen, holiday and seasonal content with SEO best practices to maintain and grow search rankings.

 

The Arena Group’s expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $55,000 – $70,000.  Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law.  The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group’s total compensation and benefits available to its employees. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Source, pitch and write fun, quick-turnaround trending food stories

  • Update/optimize seasonal and evergreen content according to SEO best practices

  • Assist other editors with SEO projects, e-commerce initiatives, social media research, and other edit programs

  • Use analytics to help guide content creation

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years years of post-grad experience in a writer/editor role at a digital publisher

  • Knowledge of digital content and SEO best practices 

  • Experience with analytical & research tools such as Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Google News & Trends preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail

  • Self-starter who is able to work independently 

  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude

  • A tireless drive and commitment to reaching and exceeding goals

  • Experience working in a CMS

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
