Title: Associate Editor

Location: Remote

Job Summary: This shared editorial position is responsible for editing and creating content within the T&D World, EnergyTech and Microgrid Knowledge digital and print platforms that educates, engages and provides value to the respective audiences.

Essential Job Function:

  • Create content through writing and editing of press releases including industry news and products; write original news stories based on research and interviews; research and write features stories as needed.
  • Assist with print issue production, including editing and proofreading; working with art director; coordinating pages through the print process; sending proofs to authors and author contracts. This will also include writing/curating departments as assigned.
  • Support the brands’ presence on social media through the posting of content and management of engagement as assigned.
  • Populate, test and deploy e-newsletters.
  • Support multi-media development as assigned: (podcasts, webinars, etc)
  • Assist with soliciting contributed content; editing, posting, SEO, and contracts for contributed content.
  • Attend and cover industry events and trade shows

Core Competencies: The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong writing/editing skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects under tight time constraints. The candidate will be detail-oriented and organized. The candidate must have good communication skills and be comfortable speaking to people on the phone and building relationships with content contributors. The candidate will be digitally savvy and have some understanding of SEO and social media best practices. Knowledge of the energy industry is a plus, but not required. Must be self-directed, able to work on deadlines and a strong communicator.

  • Bachelor’s degree–in English, journalism or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years editorial experience

Special Job Dimensions: Position may require travel, which would be 5% of time.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the OTE for this position is $50,000-55,000/yr.
