Salary Range: 55,000 – 60,000 USD Annually
The referenced salary range is based on the Company’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Total compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
ABOUT THE TEAM: Joining the team at offers a stimulating opportunity to become an integral part of a top news department within national commercial real estate. Being part of our team means being at the forefront of industry trends, contributing to impactful journalism, and continuously honing your skills in a collaborative and supportive environment., a national commercial real estate news service, is looking for an associate editor to join our news team. This person would serve as back up to the managing editor and would write and edit articles as needed. We are looking for someone with an eye for quality control—the articles should always be made better after they pass through your hands—and a willingness to dig into complex issues and explain them simply to the audience.


  • Write daily news items on and help to further build out the Florida and New York City beats
  • Proof articles for typos, fluency and possible inaccuracies
  • Evaluate news items to see if they are appropriate to run on our site
  • Manage and deploy newsletters as required, making lineup and packaging decisions to grow reader engagement
  • Develop new and diverse sources and regularly interview executives in the industry
  • Assist with our influencer program, writing profiles and helping with the finalist selection process
  • Host industry panels and webcasts as needed, bringing an editorial lens to the discussion
  • Some travel to industry events


  • Minimum five years of business journalism experience
  • Skilled headline writer with the ability to communicate a story’s unique angle to readers
  • Deadline-obsessed, with the ability to meet early morning deadlines and write and edit stories quickly
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal, including a comfort level with onstage interviews at live events
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively while remote
  • Ability to develop unique angles from standard press releases that resonate with a sophisticated CRE audience
  • Experience using data to guide editorial decisions. Knowledge of Adobe Omniture and Chartbeat preferred.
  • Experience in the commercial real estate space preferred
