📐 About This Role

As the Accounting Manager at Writer, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the company’s financial health and success. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and managing accounts payable and receivables. With your expertise, you’ll provide valuable insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive the company’s growth.

Reporting to the head of finance, the accounting manager will supervise the accounting function, which currently has one full-time employee, and provide timely, accurate, and useful accounts.

🦸🏻‍♀️ Your responsibilities

– Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
– We analyze financial data and prepare financial statements, reports, and presentations
– Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
– Manage accounts payable and receivable
– Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records
– Prepare and file tax returns
– Providing financial advice and guidance to management
– Work with external auditors and other financial professionals
– Keep current on accounting standards and best practices
– Identify and mitigate financial risks
– Supervise and scale accounting team

– Strong accounting and financial management skills
– Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, with timely and accurate close
– Track record of managing first audit at growth technology companies
– Experience with budgeting and forecasting
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Experience leading accounting team, and working independently
– Proficiency in accounting software, with experience upgrading ERP
– Knowledge of tax laws and regulations
– Attention to detail and accuracy
– Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– CPA, with at least 10 years of experience


– High intellectual curiosity and a proclivity to lean into a new subject matter
