Standing strong in the face of adversity is one of the most life-altering challenges we can all go through. While it may be difficult most of the time, it is not completely impossible to achieve. Here are 20 best books on Stoicism to help you do that.

One only needs to be equipped with temerity, the right attitude and the proper perspective of things to see adversity as open doors rather than stumbling blocks. Easier said than done, but nothing is impossible when we put our minds and hearts into it.

Here is my list of helpful Stoicism books to stay grounded even during tough times.

Stoicism and the Art of Happiness by Donald Robertson. If you are looking for a material that will help fortify your resilience, this book is for you. Be amazed by the life-changing insights contained in this book.

The Obstacle Is the Way by Ryan Holiday. Learn from the book that became a timeless piece even or celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger. Focus on the things you can control and work at it with passion rather than focusing on the things you cannot control.

Antifragile by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. Adversities can be viewed as an opportunity to grow rather than as a barrier to growth and happiness.

Endure by Alex Hutchinson. Understand how far your body and mind are capable of going when you exercise endurance. This is a book that will push you to your limits without losing your confidence and faith.

Relentless Optimism by Darrin Donnelly. Learn how positive thinking can make you healthier, happier and more resilient no matter what your circumstances may be. There is nothing like this book!

The Art of Extraordinary Confidence by Dr. Aziz Gazipura. This book is such an eye opener where it concerns building up one’s self-confidence. It made me realize that confidence does matter in all areas of life.

Declutter Your Mind by S.J. Scott and Barrie Davenport. Whether we realize it or not there is a need to unload a lot of negative thoughts stored up in our minds. I never fully understood the harmful impact of keeping a cluttered mind until this exciting book came along.

Not Nice by Dr. Aziz Gazipura. While branded as a controversial book, it delivered a very powerful message to me personally pertaining to being “nice.” There is a way to stay nice without compromising one’s right to express sentiments and act boldly.

Old School Grit by Darrin Donnelly. This book made me understand what it means to have grit, the kind that makes a difference. It is one of a kind.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. Find out the important habits you need to master to get your life in order and achieve success at the same time. I will not hesitate to read this book over and over again.

The Road Less Travelled by Dr. M. Scott Peck. What will it take to live a meaningful life? Where does true fulfillment come from? These are but a few of the questions you will find answers to by reading this book.

Think Like a Warrior by Darrin Donnelly. I found this book quite engaging. It teaches one to develop a “warrior’s mindset” – how to take control of your life and get the best results out of it.

Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl. This book dramatically reveals the pragmatic ways one can survive suffering. It will teach readers the necessary mindsets in order to survive life’s most painful experiences.

Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers. I find this book very empowering. Overcoming one’s fears is vital to achieving more in life and the insights are exactly what I needed to hear at a time when I needed them most.

Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins. If you want to learn how to take control of your destiny by mastering how you work physically, emotionally and mentally, this book is really helpful. This book is unlike anything I have ever encountered before.

The Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer. Discover the unique power of intention and intentional living by investing in this exciting read. You will never see your life the same way again.

The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins. Sometimes all it takes is a short 5-second window of opportunity to give ourselves an extra push so we can respond to situations the way we ought to. This is such an incredible read!

The Attention Revolution by B. Alan Wallace. Our current generation has so many distractions to offer making us unable to focus on the thing we should be mindful of. I love this book for its effective teachings on how best to stay focused on the more important things in spite of the many temptations and challenges that life has to offer.

Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer. The mind, truly, is a complex battlefield. If we are not equipped to combat unseemly and hurtful thoughts, we will easily succumb to the many challenges of life. I love this book for being such a helpful and effective material.

Braving the Wilderness by Brené Brown. Teach yourself to be able to stand boldly against the numerous difficulties that life will bring even if you have to do it alone. This book is so empowering!
