Senior Technical Writer
Description
First Division Consulting is looking for a talented Senior Technical Writer to develop and manage electronic technical manuals using S1000D standards. This role requires deep XML expertise and experience publishing to NAVSEA, NAVAIR, or equivalent DoD specifications.
Location: NSWC Panama City Division (Panama City, FL)

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and XML coding of S1000D-compliant Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).
- Utilize content management systems for manual production and configuration control.
- Manage technical publication specifications, including tagging, DMRL creation, and illustration numbering.
- Maintain configuration and logistics data compliance using Model-Based Product Support (MBPS) tools.
- Partners with stakeholders, customers, and Agile teams to design, create, test, curate, and deliver accurate, clear, and concise technical content for products that is appropriate for multiple audiences as part of multiple Agile teams.
- Check for accuracy and consistency in both the product and the documentation.
- Adapt to a fast-paced industry and modify duties and objectives as needed.
Requirements
- 7+ years of senior-level experience in XML coding and technical manual development.
- Recent (within 4 years) experience using content management software for S1000D IETM publishing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with tagging, DMRL development, and managing technical data in compliance with NAVSEA/NAVAIR standards.
- Obsessive about technical accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent writer and overall communicator.
- Analytical and organized, excellent time manager.
- Set priorities and escalate issues appropriately.
- Familiarity with MBPS databases and DoD publication directives.
- Clearance Required: Active Top Secret.
