Technical Content Writer
Description
Who we are
Clearstream is a communication software for churches. Our web-based texting and email app is used by 6,000+ churches, including many of the largest in the U.S.
While our customer base is large, our team is small – around 14 people currently. This means you will play a vital role and have a voice. Our culture is genuinely friendly and fun, but also highly detail-oriented, and hard working. But we don’t subscribe to the ‘work until you drop’ startup mentality. We strongly believe in work/life balance. Proof is that we have 4 day work weeks year-round.

What Success Looks Like For This Role
- Customer education: You will be responsible for writing content that helps our customers get more value from Clearstream:
- Technical how-to emails and blogs
- Product updates (we ship new updates and features multiple times per month).
- Email drip campaigns teaching customers how to use features they aren’t using yet.
- Customer case studies
- Technical but approachable writing style: You can learn something complex and technical and then communicate in a way that is simple and easy to understand. You should know what details are worth including and what should be left out.
- Marketing content: You work with our team to produce clear, honest, non-salesy content that will be distributed through social media and Google/Bing ad networks.
- SEO Performance: Improved search rankings and traffic for church-focused content.
- Collaboration: We’re a small, tight-knit team comprised mostly of software engineers and customer support specialists. We all work together. You’ll collaborate with different people on different teams with the goal of helping customers use Clearstream successfully for their church.
- Humble: You welcome feedback and revisions on your writing. You are willing to work through multiple drafts until it’s just right. You can expect a lot of feedback, especially in your first 6 months. Even after 6 months, you will receive feedback, but revisions should become fewer and fewer as you progress in this role.
