Job Description

Help people save a little bit each paycheck—so they don’t have to live paycheck to paycheck. And do this by bringing our story and product to life.

Guideline is looking for a Senior Content Designer to join our Research and Development organization. You’ll be driving content and UX for our 401(k) product experience, helping both employers and employees. You’ll also be a key player in the larger content team as we evolve our voice and tone, refine our in-product messaging, and improve our writing standards. This role will most closely partner with Product team members, including Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers—while collaborating with other departments, like Marketing and Customer Support.

Responsibilities

  • Drive UX writing for our 401(k) product: You’ll drive the content for our 401(k) product, ensuring that our employers can manage their retirement benefit and employees can save for their future. You’ll own the content on new and legacy flows.

  • Support our voice and tone evolution: You’ll work closely with creative functions and our agile team of writers to strengthen our Guideline brand. At a high-level, this means helping land our E2E strategic messaging. At a team level, this means shipping quality work—and helping other functions also adapt our high-quality content standards.

  • Help foster a strategic content culture: You’ll be part of establishing strong UX processes, from practicing design-thinking methods to running content ideation sessions. With your unique skills, you’ll show how thoughtful and empathetic storytelling throughout the product positively impacts business and user needs.

  • Become a domain expert: You’ll grow your expertise in 401(k) plans and savings strategies by understanding the retirement sector as well as Guideline’s product ecosystem. This will help you execute content while helping us meet compliance needs within our regulated space. You’ll run stakeholder reviews, align feedback, and move projects along to be shipped.

  • Collaborative cross-functional partnerships: You’ll work with a variety of partners—doing deep dives with Product to problem solve, ideate, and address design debt; consulting with Marketing to think through our branding and style; building your user empathy and understanding of business needs with Legal and Customer Support. This role is key to overseeing cohesion and consistency in our product.
